AUSTIN – The Environmental Partnership, an initiative of over 100 U.S. oil and natural gas companies, has released its fourth annual report showcasing the industry’s continued progress in innovation and emissions reductions. According to the new report, participants continue to make significant progress across six environmental performance programs including reducing flaring, replacing gas-driven pneumatic controllers with low- or zero-emitting devices and reducing leak occurrence rates.
The Partnership has continued to grow while making significant strides in emissions reductions, such a 45% reduction in flare intensity and 26% reduction in total flare volumes from the previous year though the adoption of best practices and new innovations that together will help ensure a cleaner, stronger energy future.
The Environmental Partnership is comprised of companies in the U.S. oil and natural gas industry committed to continuously improving the industry’s environmental performance. It includes companies of all sizes, including many of the country’s major oil and natural gas producers. Partnerships like this along with the Texas Methane and Flaring Coalition will continue environmental progress here in Texas and across the nation.
